Maximum allowable handicap index is 7.2 strokes under the terms of the USGA Men's Handicap System. The AGA will be the final authority in determining whether or not a handicap that has been presented qualifies as an "approved USGA handicap".

Entries are subject to rejection, or withdrawal, at any time at the discretion of the AGA.

FORMAT

The Championship will be single elimination Match Play, two matches per day beginning on Thursday, August 5, 2010 and concluding Saturday, August 7, 2010, weather permitting.

The starting field will be limited to 64 players, who will be determined by exemptions (See Exemptions) and an on-site qualifier on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 (See Qualifying).

EXEMPTIONS

The first 24 players, and ties, on the Alabama Golf Association points list, for a 12 month period as of July 26, 2010, who have submitted an entry by entry deadline, will be exempted into match play beginning on Thursday, August 5, 2010.

The Alabama Golf Association reserves the right to award an exemption(s) to a player(s) other than specified above should circumstances so warrant.

RULES OF PLAY
Play will be governed by the 2010-2011 Rules of Golf as published by the USGA and by the Local Rules as established by the AGA. Questions will be settled by the AGA Rules Committee, whose decision shall be final.
CONDITIONS
The AGA Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the AGA in any matter shall be final.
QUALIFYING

A "Match Play Play-In” qualifier will be conducted Wednesday, August 4, 2010 to determine the remaining match play field after the exempt players have been identified.  The "Match Play Play-In" qualifier will be conducted if the qualifying field is twice the number of non-exempt spots or less.

In the event the number of qualifiers exceeds the number stated above, a qualifying round of 18 holes of stroke play will be conducted.

In the event the number of qualifiers exceeds 144, acceptance of entries into qualifying will be determined using a combination of the AGA's Player Points List, previous performances in AGA events and verified USGA Handicap Index.

In the event of a tie(s) for the last match play position(s), a "sudden death" playoff for that position(s) will commence immediately following the conclusion of the stroke play qualifier, or as soon as practicable.

MATCH PLAY DRAW

Exempt players will be seeded into match play in accordance with recommendations as set forth by the USGA based on their positions on the points list. Players having the same number of points will be seeded by lot.

Qualifiers will be seeded into match play based on their qualifying score, with ties being decided by lot.
