For AHSAA Players
ONLY!
|
A special qualifier has been established
for high school players whose schools are members
of the AHSAA and who, because of a rule restricting
outside play during their golf season on school
days, cannot attempt to qualify. This qualifier
will run concurrently with the first day of play
at the AHSAA State Golf Championship at Hampton
Cove, Huntsville, Monday, May 10. Should a player select this
qualifier, and then his school does not make the
state championship, or himself as an individual,
it is his responsibility to call AGA and request
a move to another qualifying site. |
| NOTE: Practice time days vary
from site to site, so we recommend you call early
and make arrangements. Also, some qualifying sites
additionally may require softspike shoes and players
need to be prepared for that eventuality. |
| The AGA Tournament Committee reserves
the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules
herein. The decision of the AGA in any matter shall
be final. |
| 1. To submit
an entry (electronic entries only), simply click the
register button at the bottom of this page and follow the step-by-step procedure. All entries
must be RECEIVED in the AGA office no later
than 11:59 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 2010.
2. No entries will be accepted after
11:59 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 2010.
3. An entry fee in the amount of $165.00 for exempt
players, $60.00 for non-exempt players, payable by
credit card, must accompany the entry application,
$5.00 of which will be donated to the Alabama Turfgrass
Research Foundation. Players that successfully qualify will have to submit an additional entry fee of $165 and will be instructed how to do so following the conclusion of their qualifier.
4. Upon successfully completing the entry procedure, an email confirmation will be automatically generated and sent to you at the email address you designate.
5. Withdrawal: If a player withdraws before
5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 2010, the entry fee
will be refunded upon request, subject to a $15.00
service fee. No refunds will be made after
5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 29, 2010, unless AGA returns
your entry for some reason. All dates and time refer
to date and time of receipt at the
AGA office.
If the entry is rejected for any reason(s), you will
be immediately advised of the reason(s), at which
time you can correct the problem(s) and re-submit
the entry form.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO ENTRY IS FORMALLY ACCEPTED
UNTIL THE ENTRY FEE HAS BEEN PROCESSED BY THE AGA
OFFICE. |
| Players MUST register IN PERSON prior to beginning play, or, if playing a practice round, prior to playing the practice round. Failure to do so may result in rejection of the player's entry.
Inquire in the Golf Shop regarding the location of
registration. |
| Play will be governed by the
2010-2011 Rules of Golf as published by the USGA and
by the Local Rules as established by the AGA. Questions
will be settled by the AGA Rules Committee, whose
decision shall be final. |
| Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club extends practice
privileges to eligible players on Tuesday June 8th
after 10:00 AM,
and Wednesday, June 9th. Starting times MUST be obtained
through the Golf Shop (256-757-2136).
|
| No caddies are available at Turtle
Point but it is permissible to bring a caddie.
Any player who does so is solely responsible for his/her
conduct. Contestants are not required to have either
caddie or cart and are permitted to carry their own
bag.
Golf carts are available to those contestants who
have a valid driver's license. Cart fees will be the
same for each player, even if circumstances are such
that a player is left to ride by himself.
Users must obey the cart operations rules established
by the host club, to include the allowance of spectator
carts.
For further information regarding carts, please refer
to the Cart Policy provided as part of the player
packet given to players at registration. |
| Championship: Awards will
be presented to the low 10 scorers posting 72 hole
scores.
|
| The dress code at all qualifying
sites and the championship site will be strictly enforced.
Jeans are NOT allowed and shorts MUST be "Bermuda"
length, or mid-thigh. No shorts approximating "tennis"
length will be tolerated and this includes cut-offs,
tennis shorts, bathing suits, etc. Shirts must have
collars. Any player not meeting these standards will
be asked to remedy this situation prior to play.
Note: Softspike shoes are required.
If you have any doubts as to what dress will be accepted,
please ask any AGA official. |
